After a fire irreparably damaged the original building in 2017, M’akola Development Services collaborated with the Vancouver Native Housing Society to design and construct an Indigenous-focused housing project catering to singles and families. Vanguard provided full mechanical services for the redevelopment project, resulting in a cross-laminated, nine-storey timber building. Frances aligns with the City’s sustainability goals, celebrates the historic cultural practices of Indigenous peoples, and addresses the critical need for quality affordable housing in the Indigenous community.
